Gegharkunik Museum of Regional Studies
Geological Museum of Gegharkunik was founded in 1952. The museum has more than 8427 museum exhibits. In the museum, you can learn about the history of Gegharkunik region from the old stone age to the present day. Currently, 2318 exhibits are on display in 6 halls. In the archeology department of the Geological Museum, stone tools, an ancient bow and anchor, bronze daggers, and various ornaments are kept. The cuneiform inscription of the Urartu king Rusa I and the border pillar of the Armenian king Artashes I with an Aramaic inscription are of great importance. Also, the stone jar with the image of a ram and other valuable items, the number of which exceeds 600, are presented at the exhibition.
